NHIDCL: New Delhi, Delhi, India; The NHIDCL is a Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Govt of India mandated to promote, survey, establish, design, build, operate, maintain and upgrade National Highways and Strategic Roads including inter-connecting roads in the North Eastern Region and those parts of the country sharing international boundaries with the neighbouring countries. The enhanced connectivity would promote cross border trade and commerce besides helping safeguard India’s international borders and economically consolidate the South and South East Asia, resulting in overall economic benefits for the local population and help integrate the peripheral areas with the mainstream in a more robust manner. The company has been entrusted the task of developing and improving road connectivity of an approximate aggregate length of 10,000 km including the international trade corridor in the North East, and 500 km of roads in the North Bengal and North Eastern region of India. This would enable efficient and safe transport regionally with other South Asia Sub-regional Economic Cooperation (SASEC) member countries with the help of ADB (Asian Development Bank).
